General GT Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 6:42 pm. Tammy read the treasurer’s report our total balance is $345,033.90. This includes checking, savings and our Vanguard accounts.
We are looking for new Sponsors and asked if any of the top ten had sponsors we would love for them to ask about sponsoring GT.
New Business
AKC rumor that they will not be sponsoring us anymore. AKC will have to see how their certification programs go this year and they will re-visit the amount of Sponsorship they give to us. We also asked that everyone making negative posts on social media about any sponsor stop. Social media posts can be harmful towards GT and sponsors are watching. We also suggested that if anyone is posting pictures from shows to tag GT. If the team can wear their team uniforms in the ring and around the show that would be great as well. We will be creating a message board on the website, this drop down will contain, suggestion or grievance form, Minutes from general meetings and any resolution to grievances filed.
We spoke about rumors we heard that Ralph Whitman was going to sue Gt if we didn’t sanction his show which is not true. We decided to sanction both shows because they were partners that split. We can not get into any family business and agreed both shows should be sanctioned. It was suggested to us that a GT representative be at all sanctioned shows, we explained that it was not cost effective for GT to do that. Someone said make the show promoters pay for it. This topic will be put on our agenda for our next BOD meeting.
We will also talked about sanctioning judges for open level. We asked for a committee to be organized with ideas, credentials and suggestions on how this would look and we could help present this to show promoters. But we also said GT could not be responsible for creating this or enforcing this because then it looks like we are picking judges and the team.
We will be counting all shows again starting in 2024. We asked for suggestions or ideas on how to support sponsors better, give them more for their sponsorship. It was suggested that we put how we pick the alternate for the travel team on our website. We explained that we calculated all 3 years and this gave us the person who was best fit for this year,
