GroomTeamUSA,Inc. has made changes in sanctioning guidelines affecting the 2026-2027 contest circuit. Guideline updates are an ongoing effort to comply with accepted international rules as well as professional industry protocol. Application for sanctioning must have been received by June 1, 2025 for the 2026-2027 contests.

GroomTeam USA will be awarding points only to Open Division competitors in the four sanctioned classes:

Wire Coats Class Handstrip
Sporting Class- Spaniels And Setters
Poodles
Other Pure Breeds- Scissoring

Entries from classes and divisions other than the GroomTeam USA, Inc. ® Sanctioned Open Division classes will not be counted in point calculation. Bonus points will be awarded to Best In Show winners provided their entry is from a sanctioned class. Best in Show points count toward the Top 10 point totals only.

Dear Show Promoter, Thank you for your interest in having a GroomTeam USA sanctioned show. *Application fee $500, includes $250 per year, per show. Please fill out the application and submit it by June 1, 2025 for the 2026-2027 show cycle. Make sure you check the “I agree” box and click Submit. As legal representative, I agree to uphold and abide by the sanctioned contest/class rules set forth by GroomTeam USA, Inc.® I understand that some of these rules have been updated as of March 2025. I have read and understand the Sanctioning and Point Acceptance Requirements, Conflict of Interest Policy and the Standards of Conduct and Sportsmanship Rules by which GroomTeam USA, Inc.®, operates. I will submit results from the above-named show no later than 15 days after the last day of the event, to the GroomTeam USA, Inc.® secretary. I understand failure to comply with this agreement may jeopardize future GroomTeam USA, Inc. ® sanction status. I understand that GroomTeam USA will assign a Grievance Liaison at all shows to help facilitate any grievances. The liaison will work closely with show promoters to facilitate a proactive approach to resolving issues promptly and transparently. This person will be available if an infraction occurs against the Conflict of Interest Policy, Code of Conduct or Standards of Conduct and Sportsmanship Rules. The sole purpose of the Liaison is to gather information, create a timeline and present it to the Show Promoter and Board. All Grievances must be submitted prior to the close of the show. In order to have points awarded GroomTeam USA, Inc.® requires all contestants who enter a sanctioned class to check a box on your entry form website that they have read and agree to our Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Policy and the Standards of Conduct and Sportsmanship Rules before the entry form can be submitted/completed. *
