Competitive Creative Styling represents an idea, a dream harvested by Jerry Schinberg. More than forty years ago, he planted this colorful seed in the minds of talented stylists and then encouraged them to bring it to fruition at the All American Grooming show. The world’s longest running grooming show. The GroomTeam USA, Biennial, Jerry Schinberg Creative Styling Award will be presented to an individual or organization that has helped to bring Jerry Schinberg’s dream to realization. The recipient of this award encourages growth, education and camaraderie within the creative styling community. The recipient of this award is chosen by GT USA Board of Directors and will always be presented on the odd years. This award started in 2015 and may only be won once.

“Making the world more colorful, one dog at a time” is the tag line for the 2019  Jerry Schinberg Creative Styling Award recipient. We are pleased to present this to the Queen of Color – Dawn Omboy

Dawn is known throughout the Grooming Industry for her exciting and colorful Creative Grooms in the competition ring. An inspiration to many of today’s Creative winners, Dawn is retired from the competition ring but still makes her mark in the industry in her seminars and workshops.

Many stylists have started their Creative careers right there in Dawn’s classes as she encourages them and instills confidence in her students to integrate creative styling techniques in their everyday salon styling as well as the competition ring. We thank Dawn for the colorful personality and the smile on her face wherever she goes.
